ODESSA, Fla., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/
-- Global Energy Group, Inc. (“Global Energy”) announced today
that it has been awarded the contract to provide new air conditioning
equipment for 10 additional United States Post Offices in Florida. The
U.S. Postal Service has a strong program to reduce energy consumption
and this contract is part of a longer-term program between the Postal
Service and TECO Solutions, a unit of TECO Energy (NYSE:TE), to improve
the energy efficiency of postal facilities.
Global Energy has worked with TECO Solutions over
the past three years on other postal facilities in Florida. With the
completion of the buildings under this contract, Global Energy will have
installations in a total of fifteen post offices throughout the state.
This latest phase of energy conservation and capital improvements at the
USPS includes Global Energy’s award-winning Inventor Series 1400
packaged air conditioning units, and its’ EER+ retrofit units. While
results will vary from building to building, Global Energy’s patented
technology has enabled the company to manufacture air-conditioning
equipment that will generally improve energy efficiency by up to 40% by
reducing both electric demand and electric consumption.
“In the past, we have provided equipment to modify
existing air-conditioning equipment at postal facilities,” said Joe
Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Energy.
“This is the first time that we have been able to install our Inventor
Series line of packaged air-conditioners, which recently went into
production.”
Global Energy’s Inventor Series incorporates the
company’s patented technology into a complete air-conditioning unit.
This unit recently won a U.S. Department of Energy- sponsored
competition to produce a very highly energy efficient unit and offers a
level of efficiency previously not seen in commercial air-conditioners.
The Inventor Series 1400 packaged air conditioning unit is ARI certified
as the highest efficiency in the industry, and received the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star rating.
"The Global Energy products are a great fit for
this federal client that is aggressively working to conserve energy",
said Adam Parke, project manager-TECO Solutions. "We're already looking
at using Global Energy products in our third phase of work for the USPS
Central Florida district later this year."
